Welcome to those at our Mill Creek Campus as well as those watching online. We are one church at two locations. Today I am teaching from our Sugarloaf Campus. Our Mill Creek Campus is located 20 minutes to our north. I encourage you to attend the campus closest to you.
Introduction
1. Have you ever thought about when you walk into a church service like this one who you are actually sitting with? Who are the people in the room? If a church is healthy and if a church is doing its job, then there will always be three groups of people in the room. I truly believe that every church I've pastored has always had these three groups of people. First of all, there are those who come to church who have no relationship with Jesus Christ. They may or may not be religious. They may or may not own a Bible. They may or may not know very much about church at all, but they do not know the Lord. They have never been what the Bible calls, ''saved.''
2. There is a second group of people and that is - people who come to church and know the Lord, but their lives are not much different from people who don't know the Lord. They are not satisfied with their Christian life. They know they are living far below what the Christian life should be about. They don't read their Bible very much at all, if at all. They never share Christ with anyone. They have no desire to go on a mission trip. Their giving is (at best) sporadic. The kind of joy and peace and spiritual power they know they should have they done.
3. Then there is a third group of people who come to church and they know the Lord, but they consciously and consistently ask for and receive the filling of the Holy Spirit. Though they are not perfect, they are growing, full of joy, share their faith, give with gladness, serve willingly and they are understanding more and more the secret of the spirit-filled life.
