Hey, can we show some appreciation to dummy love? The courage of her telling her story and I love the reality there that she found confidence even though her circumstances were uncertain. And that's what this series is about. If you're just showing us, we're in the midst of a series here at Mission Mills called Uncertain.
And we're looking for a treasure. And that treasure is confidence, it's peace, even when our circumstances are uncertain. And our guide for that has been the book of one Peter. So we're working our way through the book of one Peter in the Bible. And I realize as I was preparing this message, that God did something cool.
He orchestrated something that I hadn't seen coming. And that is that on a weekend when we pay our respect. We're actually looking at a passage that's talking about the power of respect. So on a weekend where we pay our respect to those who have fallen in defense of our freedom, we're actually gonna be talking about the power of respect that we show other people.
And I'm gonna go ahead and get started, but I just wanna tell you as we begin this, that it starts rough. Can I just say that it's gonna start off with something that you're gonna go, how are you gonna get there from here? Okay, so I'm gonna just take a deep breath. Here. Here's the first verse of one Peter three.
One wives. In the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands. We're just gonna stop there for a second. Okay. Let me do a couple of important things. First off, if you're guy and you came with your wife, why don't you look at your wife very lovingly, look in her eyes and go, I'm so glad that we came to church today, honey.
No I'm kidding. Okay. Don't do that. That is not gonna bring you peace in your home. Okay? Don't do that. Okay. Listen here's what I wanna do. Lemme set this up. Lemme set this discussion up. Okay? This is what you need to unders ...
