A few years ago I was on my way back from doing a thing in England and I had this long transatlantic flight and I was so ready to get my introvert on, and I had my headphones and I had my book and my laptop, and I was like, okay, this is what we're gonna do. And we hadn't been in the air more than like 10 minutes, and I felt the Holy Spirit in me go, oh, you should talk to the people next to you.
And I was like. No, I shouldn't. I don't wanna do that, but it was a very clear leading, so I looked the person on my left was a very angry woman. I don't know if she's having a bad day or a bad life, I'm not sure. But she just, there was just anger, like coming off of her, looked over at my right and it was a kind of a small Middle Eastern man.
So I was like, okay, I'm gonna talk to him. And actually, I dunno if you've ever had this happen, but it just immediately we hit it off. His name was Ferran. He was from Pakistan, and we had obviously radically different backgrounds and belief systems. He was practicing Muslim, but we just kinda hit it off and we went really deep, really fast, and we started talking about our faith stuff.
And so I was hearing about his, growing up in Islam and I was talking about Christianity, about Jesus we're having a good time. And all of a sudden the woman on my left leans over and goes, you guys are full of it. She didn't say it. She did use those two letters, but the, there were two other letters that preface that and we're like.
Okay. And then so she introduced herself. She said, here's how she introduced herself. She said, I'm an atheist geneticist. And I was like, I don't know what to do with that. I'm a theist theologian. My name's Craig. Can we go with that? And she basically just told us that everything we believe about the idea of a God and that that the God had created things.
She just thought it was just absolute gar ...
