We are moving through the life of David

We did a series called - Against All Odds

Now in a series called Crowed and Grounded.

David has gone through some of his development seasons, and we have now crowned him as KING.

The 2nd King of Israel.

A spot he will serve for 40 years.

He was 30 years old when he became king and was king until he was 70 years old.

The next 40 years of his life we can learn a crazy amount.

Last week we found him to be King over all Israel and Judah.

As his 1st act as King, David marched with his men to Jerusalem, which was still occupied by the Jebusites. The Jebusites were a Canaanite tribe descended from Canaan, the grandson of Noah.

The Jebusites had likely controlled Jerusalem for several hundred years, possibly over 800-1,000 years.

Joshua was supposed to remove them but did not.

So now David does.

Then once he did, he established Jerusalem and it became the Capital of Israel.

David's heart was not just to make it a Political Capital though.

His heart was to bring back the heart of worship.

To put God back at the center.

God had been removed from being the center.

LISTEN...

When you take God out of the center of your life everything else gets out of order.

Peace fades.

Purpose drifts.

Worship becomes routine.

Decisions become self-centered.

And the presence of God feels distant - not because He moved, but because we did.

NOW THERE IS GOOD NEWS...

God doesn't stay on the sidelines when you're ready to surrender.

He's waiting - not to punish you, but to restore you.

Just like David, you can return to the presence.

You can rebuild the altar.

You can rekindle the fire.

And when you do... God won't just meet you there - He'll bless everything around you.
