(18) All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
(19) that is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
(20) Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Introduction
-This morning, I want to continue our conversation on the power of R. I want to bring you the second part of this mini-series, Reconciliation Horizontally-With Each Other.
-Tell the person next to you- "we have to be reconciled!"
-Let's read the scripture. It's the same reference as last week!
-Let us go to 2 Car. 5:18-19.
Milk: The Lord has called us to be reconciled with one another
2 Cor. 5:20 - Therefore, we (You and I) are (Perpetual statement, present tense, active today) ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
-But Pastor, that verse says to be reconciled with God.
-Yes, that is part of it, which we talked about last week, but Look at what Jesus himself says,
-Matthew 5:23-24
-(23) So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, (24) leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
-Jesus is telling his disciples and communicating that we must be reconciled with each other.
-We must also forgive and be reconciled the same way God forgave us.
-As a matter of fact, I'll let Paul say it.
-Ephesians 4:31-32
-(31) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. (32) Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God for ...
