Title: Put Oil in Your Horn
Author: Jesús Rodríguez
Text: 1 Samuel 16:1-3
(1) The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons."
(2) And Samuel said, "How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me." And the LORD said, "Take a heifer with you and say, 'I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.'
(3) And invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do. And you shall anoint for me him whom I declare to you."
1 Samuel 16:1-3 - ESV
Introduction
- Thank you very much for joining us one more Sunday! I know God has an amazing plan for all of us in this room today, and I pray that we do not leave the same way we came.
- The Lord placed this message in my heart Monday morning as I reflected on last week's sermon.
- As I meditated, I found myself going back to this passage that I was about to read.
- I asked the Lord if I should talk about provokers again, and I felt the release of the Lord not to talk about it as a part 2, but rather, he highlighted a hindrance in many of our walks, especially as we exit 2023.
- If we can grasp this word today, I know God will do amazing things in your life!
- Let's go together to the book of 1 Samuel 16:1-3
- These verses are packed with so much wisdom that I can write a whole book about it and have several volumes.
- Let's read and highlight what I highlighted.
