Easter! Resurrection Day! This day is the reason we gather each Sunday, study the scripture, and worship passionately. Yet there are many, even some inside the church, who doubt the resurrection. But I say with confidence, "It's true, He's alive!"

My goal or my heart is to address the fact that Jesus did, in fact, live, die, was buried, and rose from the dead. I submit this is a historical fact. Today, I want every person to walk out with a new or renewed confidence in who Jesus is, what Jesus did, and even what He will do for you if you will let Him. I'll do this in 5 quick thoughts.

DISCLAIMER: I (We) believe the Bible to be God's Holy Word (with all the "I"), but we know that everyone does not share view. So I'll offer some extra-Bible evident. But even the most learned skeptic admits the Bible, specifically the New Testament, is a historical document which, time and again, has proven to be trustworthy and accurate.

1) The Stakes - Because the resurrection is the center or the heart of what we believe the stakes are huge. Your heart beats to pump blood to every part of your body which gives you life. Without your heart, you will cease to live. To Christianity, the Resurrection is the heart.

Absent the Resurrection, we have no reason to be here because no one has a hope of eternal life, heaven, or knowing God personally. In fact, the Bible says as much (1 Cor 15:13-14) "If Christ has not been raised, then our message, our faith, and our hope is in vain (empty)" and more to the point, "If we put our hope in Christ in this life only because He has not been raised, we are of all things, miserably (hopeless)." Without Jesus, we are empty, hopeless, living for me. The stakes could not be higher. What I know is this and it hurts me to say it, there's:
