On the occasion of Mother's Day

INTRODUCTION: Every year, the second Sunday in May is set aside as a day to remember, a day to reflect, and a day to show love and appreciation to the one person who God used to bring us into this world. We do so not only because of our birth, but also because of the many things they did for us throughout all of our lives. There are so many sacrifices mothers make on behalf of their families that we can never really, truly repay them for all that they've done for us.

Although a day has been set aside for this celebration, I believe that one day a year should not be the only time we show our love and appreciation to our mothers. Let me give you a few reasons why we shouldn't wait until this day to show how much we appreciate her:

-Momma was there for you when all your friends deserted you;
-Momma loved you when nobody else cared about you;
-Momma consoled you when your friends hurt your feeling;
-Momma took care of you when you couldn't take care of yourself;
-Momma supported you when everybody else gave up on you;
-Momma put up with you even in your season of rebellion;
-Momma went above and beyond for you;
-Momma prayed for you!!

Knowing that she did all of these things, and then some, today is a good day to Honor Thy Mother!!
