Hey, before we get into our message today I want us to take some time to pray about what happened in Pennsylvania yesterday. Would you join me? God. We're your people before. We're any kind of politics and as your people we call what happened yesterday? Evil. There's no other word for it. Lord, we pray for the families of those who were killed, that you would somehow meet them in their grief.
And we pray for healing for those that are injured, including President Trump.
Lord, we we ask that the devil wouldn't have his way in this. I have no doubt that what happened yesterday, our enemy intended as a spark to incite more violence, and yet we pray that somehow in your sovereignty, you would flip the script on that. That somehow rather than inciting more violence as we move into an election season, it would actually smother it.
It would be a wake up call for the need for peace, for honor and wisdom as we pursue the future of our nation. Lord, we just ask that you would move, protect our nation and for your glory and for the good of those who inhabit it. And for the world in Jesus' name. Amen. So we're starting a new message series today, and it's called a How to Live a Life You Love.
Kind of an interesting thing about this series I if you'd gone back 10 years ago, I would not have been caught dead preaching this series. It's not as soon as I would've preach. In fact, I'm gonna be really honest with you. If I heard another church was preaching a message like this. I would've probably been a little bit critical, a little bit judgmental, and I would've probably used words like shallow watered down theology, maybe even human centered church.
And I think it's partly 'cause honestly, 10 years ago I didn't believe God cared whether or not you enjoyed your life. And I think that's probably because I grew up in church. How many of us grew up in church? So I wonder if you had t ...
