As we get into the message that I feel like God gave me to give you today, I actually wanna start by reading a blessing over you. Anybody feel like you could handle a little being blessed? Anybody? Yeah. I wanna read you one of my favorite blessings in the Bible. I ran across this several years ago and God just kinda keeps taking me back to it over and over again, and I wanna read it over you today for a couple reasons.

One of 'em, I'll explain in a second, but the other one is, even though this is as a specific blessing given to a specific person. I actually think there's some things in this that your Heavenly Father wants to bless you with, and so I want you to receive it that way. In fact why don't we do this?

Sometimes we do this here. Put your palms up. It's a posture of receiving and just receive this blessing from the Lord. This is a blessing spoken by a man named Jacob, also known as Israel over his 11th son, Joseph. He had a blessing for all of his sons. But this one in particular I think is interesting.

And again, I think there's things in here for all of us. Jacob put his hand on Joseph's head and said, Joseph is a fruitful vine near spring, whose branches climb over a wall with bitterness archers attacked him. They shot at him with hostility, but his bow remained steady. His strong arms stayed limber because of the hand of the mighty one of Jacob, because of the shepherd, the Rock of Israel, because of your father's God who helps you because of the Almighty who blesses you with blessings of the skies above blessings of the deep springs below, blessings of the breast and the womb.

Your father's blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age old hills. Let all of these rest on the head of Joseph. On the brow of the Prince among his brothers. It's a pretty good blessing, isn't it? ...
