5And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
Story of going into Post Office and getting some new stamps. They always ask my preference and I tell them to give me what they want to get rid of....ended up being the "year of the snake" stamps...uggghh
(Mark 16:18 says "they will pick up snakes and not be harmed") lol!
The big idea to open this morning is that God has stamped you.
Have you ever considered that from the very beginning that God has stamped us with something that nothing else in creation carries...
His Image!
You and I were crafted with intentionality, unique and individual...
It's amazing to me that no fingerprint is the same...
It's amazing to me that we bear the reflection of our Creator...
And that sin, while distorting that image...never completely erased that image.
It's amazing to me that even while walking in the distorted, sin marred and world-stamped image...that God is restoring what was broken and lost and making us new again through Jesus..
Michelangelo is famous for sculpting David.
When asked how he went about it he said " I just removed everything that didn't look like David"...
Have you also considered that almost everyone dreams of being someone different?
People wish they were taller, thinner, more guns...
Courageous...Looked like someone else...It's amazing how much we can struggle with self-image and yet we keep looking into mirrors!
Speaking of mirrors and money:
