- Today is Mother's Day. It's a day for us to honor our moms and thank God for the ladies in our lives. So today, we say, "thank you!" *I heard about the mother of three notoriously disobedient boys who was asked whether or not she'd have children if she had it to do over again. "Yes,"she replied. "But not the same ones."*

- *Growing up, I was an active little child. I know that you can't believe it now since I'm so calm and reserved but it's true. I had a hard time sitting still and really still do. But I can remember a sincere prayer from my mother every night just after she put me in bed. She'd kneel by my bedside in exhaustion from a hard day's work, look to the heavens and say, "Thank God he's in bed!"*

- *I'm so thankful for my mom's impact on my faith...my wife's impact on our children. Sometimes as parents, I think we take too much credit for our kids' failures and not enough credit for their success. In the end, the goal is to point our kids to Jesus and it's up to them to respond.*

- We are in the Gospel of Mark and today we come to Mark 6:1-13. Here, two different responses to Jesus are highlighted. There are those who reject Jesus and doubt His power. And those who receive Jesus and obey His commands. And the contrast between these two groups leads us to ask a question; how will you respond to Jesus? READ TEXT

- Though people were constantly amazed by Jesus, there are only two times in the New Testament where it says Jesus was amazed by people. Both involved faith. Jesus was amazed at the strong faith expressed by a Roman centurion. Luke 7:9 says, "I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith." Then, in His hometown of Nazareth, it was the absence of faith that amazed Him. Mark says, "He marveled because of their unbelief." (ON SCREEN)
