- We are studying the Gospel of Mark on Sunday mornings and today,we come to Mark 12:13-40. Admittedly, this is a longer passage than we normally handle all at once. But as I studied this passage, one common theme arose. Throughout these verses, we see Questions for Jesus. READ 13-14, 18, 28, 35, 38-40 - PRAY
- *If you could ask Jesus any question, what would it be? Would it be something deep, like why suffering exists, or something more practical, like why traffic lights are always red when you're late? I recently came across some funny questions kids have asked God, and let me tell you, they are both hilarious and honest. Here are a few gems: "Dear God, how did you come up with giraffes? That's a good one." "Dear God, how come you didn't invent any new animals lately? We still have just the old ones." "God, are you really invisible, or is that just a trick?"And it doesn't stop there: "If Jesus doesn't have a sister, why do I need to have one?" "God, if you watch church on Sunday, I'll show you my new shoes." "Dear God, how do you always get the stars in the right places?" "Dear God, I went to this wedding and they kissed in church. Are you alright with that?"*
- In Mark 12:13-40, we see a group of people asking Jesus questions-not out of curiosity, but to test Him. Yet Jesus uses these moments to teach profound truths about God, faith, and life. Remember, it's important to know the context of this story. What has happened so far?
