INTRODUCTION
Take your Bibles this morning and turn to Esther chapter 6 with me. We are continuing our
series of messages through this strange and significant book of the Bible on seeing God in
the Shadows of Life.
That reality is no more real anywhere in the pages of your Bible than here in Esther chapter
6. As a matter of fact, here in Esther 6, we see the "Obvious Evidence of The Unseen Hand
of God."
Is that phrase familiar to you? "The Unseen Hand of God." All week long, I kept thinking,
"Now, I've heard that phrase before. 'The unseen hand.' Where have I heard that phrase?"
Then it hit me. "There's an old Gospel song by that title." (Some of you probably recognized
that as soon as I said it.)
It's a great song with great lyrics.
SONG: It was written by A.J. Sims, a cotton-mill worker and pastor in Dalton, GA, who also
taught music and wrote many other hymns.
The Unseen Hand
"There's an unseen hand to me
That leads the way
I cannot see
While going through this weary land
Guided by the unseen hand.
I'm trusting to the unseen hand
While going through this weary land
And some sweet day, I'll reach that
Still guided by the unseen hand."
The Bible talks a lot about the hand of God, or "God's hand."
(IMAG) 1 Peter 5:6, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He
may exalt you in due time."
(IMAG) John 10:29, "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one
is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand."
(IMAG) Isaiah 41:13, "For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you,
'Fear not, I will help you."
(IMAG) Romans 8:34, "Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore
is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us."
