As we begin our time together it would be good to start with this question.
Does your life make it easier or more difficult for those around you to believe in Jesus Christ?
These days we hear a lot about "influencers." Social media influencers are individuals who have cultivated a large, engaged following online, often with the ability to sway purchasing decisions, beliefs, and even behaviors of their listeners. Some have gathered millions of followers, gained their trust, and then influence them in particular ways of thinking or acting.

Scripture talks about the power of influence as well. In 1 Corinthians 15:33 the Apostle Paul instructs the Corinthians to "not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals."" Proverbs 13:20 declares, "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm." Hebrews 10:24-25 states, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works near." These verses talk of influence.

Every day we relate with people and whether we realize it or not we are all influencing each other. Some people move us towards Christ while others distract us from Him. Some people harden our hearts while others seem to soften our hearts.

When you hear the testimonies of many Christians and how they came to Jesus Christ, they give witness to the power of influence. They start with something like, "I had a neighbor . . . there was a coworker. . . I met a classmate. . . I had a family member. . . I had a Sunday School teacher." They then tell of a relationship that God used to draw them to Himself. Somehow, God worked in the lives of those believers in such a way that it influenced or ushered the unbeliever towards Christ.
