The book of Hebrews is a book of exhortation and encouragement. But it is also a book of warnings. Well, that seems to be what is on the mind of this writer of Hebrews. In the midst of the encouragement, he records several warnings. These warnings all deal with the danger of drifting, departing, and devastating your faith.

We've already seen one of the warnings back in chapter 2. It was about the danger of DRIFTING. We come now to the second warning and it's about DOUBTING.

The first warning was about the dangers of drifting from God. This warning is about the dangers of doubting God. The warning goes all the way into chapter 4, but for today, it's just the danger of unbelief.

For two weeks, a small controversy has brewed in college football. But it's not a quarterback controversy or a debate over placement in the polls. It's about an alleged incident following the game between TCU and SMU on September 25.

The coach from TCU claims that a player from SMU attacked one of his assistant coaches with a helmet and gave him a concussion. But that's still not the controversy.

The problem is, video footage from multiple angles certainly appears to show that the assistant coach inadvertently collided with one of his own players. And no members of the opposing team were anywhere around when the coach took his fall.

But in spite of clear video evidence, the TCU's head coach will not back down from his claim that the injury was caused by a helmet-attack from the opposing team. In fact, one headline in the Dallas Morning News read that the coach "doubled down" on his accusations.

In the face of video evidence, he will not believe.
In the face of irrefutable proof, he will not believe.
In the face of documentation, he will not believe.
