Introduction
1. If you got your Bibles, go to the Book of Daniel. We're continuing on in our walk through Daniel. We only have one more message after this week, and I'm excited to come to Daniel 11, the last parts of it, verses 35 through 36-45. And I want to start here that we are a church that worships Jesus-Jesus as our lord, Jesus as our savior, Jesus as our King. Orthodox Christianity teaches that God is one. He's three in one, and so God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God in the flesh bearing our sin on our behalf.

The Bible calls him the author and the finisher of our faith. It's through Jesus Christ that we have any hope of being saved. It's through Jesus Christ that we can have the forgiveness of sins. It's through Jesus Christ we can have the resurrection of the dead, and so all of our hope is in Jesus. All of our hope is placed on him as our Messiah. That's what his name means: Jesus Christ. Christ is not his last name; it's his title. Jesus is our Messiah. He's the one sent from God, God in the flesh, to bear our sin, to bear our shame, to rise from the dead, and to come back as our conquering King to set up his kingdom-his kingdom come and his will be done. Jesus is our Savior and Lord.

2. And Jesus is all over the Book of Daniel, even though we're almost done with Daniel. I just want to remind us that we've seen Jesus throughout the pages of this incredible book. In Chapter 2, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, and in that dream he saw all of the four major kingdoms, empires of the ancient world depicted as a statue, and so you had the Assyrian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greek Empire, and the Roman Empire, and then at the, out of nowhere, it seems to be from Heaven, comes a stone, and it hits the base of the statue, and the statue is wiped out, and then that stone grows in ...
