THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Some people get a little weird when you start talking about the Holy Spirit, especially if
you refer to Him as the Holy Ghost. Like He is some kind of spooky force that will
completely take over your body and cause you to become a weird Christian.
Once you come to know the Holy Spirit, there's nothing weird or strange about Him.

So let's answer the question first:

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?
According to the Word of God, the Holy Spirit is God - the Third Person of the Trinity, or
what is called the Godhead. He is God, the Holy Spirit. The Father is God, Jesus is
God, and the Holy Spirit is God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
The Nicene Creed that has been embraced by the Christian Church for about 1700
years makes this statement:

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
Who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the prophets.
Notice that I said before WHO is the Holy Spirit, not What is the Holy Spirit, because...

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS PERSONAL
The Holy Spirit is HE not IT.
Not only is He is God, He is the third PERSON of the Godhead, which means He is
personal.

Let me make this statement right away to eliminate any confusion.
All those who trust in Christ for salvation have been given the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13-14
In (Christ) you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of
promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased
possession, to the praise of His glory.
