(TEXT CALL) After a 6-week break, we are back in 1 John with a series entitled, "Calm In the Chaos." We began this series in February and let me explain my thoughts. As I prayed about our situation, I was reminded of the old 'Frog in the Kettle." My observation and heart tells me that we are living in a chaotic culture that has life upside down. Why do I say this? Observation and investigation. HERE: Drugs use, and arrests are prevalent, Not long ago our library put sexually explicit books in the children's section and anyone who called attention to it was deemed evil. NATIONALLY: in 2025, we are where Pastor Joe Wright's prayed in 1996 (which was a modern-day them of Isaiah 5:20)
We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of your Word and called it moral pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem.
We have abused power and called it political savvy.
We have coveted our neighbors' possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
This was 29 years ago! Since then, the trail of chaos has multiplied. This calls us, as God's children to recognize and respond to "The Great Things of God." Remember 1 Jn 2:28-29 - There's no easy way to say this, Saved people do what is RIGHT! "Right" is defined by God, according to HIS words ...
